Valor Hold

Valor Hold is actually twin forts built into the north and south sides of the pass. The main walls of the north and south fort are cut from the pass, but many years of alterations have taken what was closer to a foundation at one point and made it into the defenses it is now. Two massive stone walls running parallel have been built (much later) connecting the east and west corners of the forts together. On the western wall only one massive gate known as The Crossing lets travelers through to the Valarian Valley. The space between these two massive walls is referred to by locals as The Inbetween.

North Fort
The North Fort is slightly larger then its southern brother, bolstering 35ft walls that are 15ft thick. Wooden ramparts and walkways have been added, along with a south facing gate and towers. The North Fort would be considered the closest thing to a castle in the region, but it is purely military holding supplies and a skeleton force of troops and guards. These forces hail from Valarian Valley and consider themselves the Army of Valaria.
South Fort
The South Fort has only 30ft walls, though they are now reinforced with wooden beams, ramparts and walkways in an attempt to make it the North Forts equal. While the North Fort is controlled by the Army of Valaria the South Fort belongs to Grimin’s Riders but they work together to maintain Valor Hold
The Crossing
The Crossing is the only gate into the Valarian Valley built with thick timbers and shod with iron it takes a crew of mules to work the mechanics to open it, though it has 2 smaller gates cut in it big enough for a large caravan wagon to be driven through.
The Inbetween
A large area of tents and stalls fill the space between the two walls. While law states that nothing can be built in The Inbetween, temporary structures are the favored loophole. Most merchants never enter the Valarian Valley finding that the people come to Valor Hold with there wares to trade.
Valor City
What started many years ago as a few wooden barracks build behind the North Fort to house additional soldiers in times of war has blossomed into the closest thing to a city in the Valarian Valley. Most residents here make there living off of some form of trade, be it warehouse owners, tavern keepers or blacksmiths, nothing is really produced here it is just a gateway for goods passing into and out of Valarian Valley. Recent construction or a wooden aqua-duct from the Valarian Valley has allowed the city to grow to its current population of around 7,000. Aben Sist is the current Mayor of Valor City, he is responsible for the building of the new aqua-duct and many of the buildings were built on his coin.
