Bio:

I made my living in the city of Rolandstahd. I was a gladiator. I know what you are thinking, blood and death for the amusement of the crowd. The gladiator sports were nothing like that. We used heavy dull and blunted weapons and the necessary armor when needed. The worst a gladiator could worry about would be a broken bone or two. The local priests were always more than happy to heal gladiators as long as the gladiator schools paid. It also helped that the priests were fans along with every peasant and nobleman. The gladiators were a wide range of new kids trying to make a living, retired soldiers and officers, and even old adventurers. It was a great living and everyone had a favorite team they cheered on.

I started the gladiator school because I was big enough and strong enough to pull it off. Fortunately, I was a very quick learner so picking up weapons and fighting styles was pretty easy. I had a bit of a temper that sometimes got me in trouble though. Occasionally, I crossed the line on what was acceptable in this controlled and honorable sport. It was my weakness.

It was there that I met that I met the local trainer for our school, Charles Vincent. He was a mercenary of sorts. He and his group of adventures would take on local threats ranging from human, monster, and sometimes worse. He has been everywhere and seen everything it seems. He was the trainer because he was retired and he knew just about every weapon one could imagine.

It was through Charles that I learned how to control the rage I felt and channel it. He wasn’t the type to use it but he had an old friend in his old adventuring group that did. Charles understood the basics on it and taught me everything I knew. I learned a lot from him and he really helped me become an excellent fighter. I was able to help out our team and my opponents couldn’t taunt me into doing something stupid and dangerous.

I set out shortly after that. There is a whole world out there and I wanted to learn how to be a better fighter and person. Hitting the road and doing the sorts of deeds that Charles did sounds like a tough but good life. And when it is all said and done, I can return to the gladiator games and become a champion.
